OK, OK… The usually prompt and ‘always showing up at the wrong time’ Aunt Flo is late. Where is she? She has not called or sent an email to say she is going to be late. She is NEVER late. I always know her movements and the day that she will arrive. I wonder if she is mad at me… Hmmm… I haven’t done anything… or have I? HA…
So, I went into the bathroom where I left the test.. I slowly picked up the stick and I COULD NOT believe my eyes… YOU GET A BABY! YOU GET A BABY! I was like, OMG! It was surreal…. I called my mom and my sister on three-way and they screamed in my ear for about 10 minutes. Wow, the baby is about to have a baby…
Well, Aunt Flo is not coming to see me for a while… she isn’t coming back until August 10th to be exact, well give or take. She DID send me a gift however; she sent me my half on the baby… (man, that was corny)..
OK, so here he it is. I am pregnant. I found out on November 29th 2011. I was in total shock, but it explained why I was so tired during our vacation in Mexico. I was BEAT. The body reacts so fast to hormonal changes. It was almost INSTANT! Needless to say, I cried. I cried from excitement and fear of the unknown. All I could think about was trying to be the best mother I could be. My life, our life, was about to change… No, it had changed in an instant.
My cycle is always on time. I have an app for that, well not to make me on time, but to track the cycle length. According to my app, I was supposed to come on November 27th. It did not. Didn’t come on the 28th and by the 29th, I knew something was wrong. There was NO sign that it was coming on either. Finally, after contemplating the possibility, I told my husband that I think I might be pregnant. It was 8pm on the 29th, and I still had not seen any sign of Flo. So, he insisted I get a test. So I did. I got two in fact. I went to my local Wal-Greens, got the store brand test, and I took it home. All the way home I could do nothing but think of the possibilities. So, I came home, followed the instructions, peed on the stick, and went about my business and waited for 3 minutes. …..tick….tock… tick…tock…
The test was digital, there was no mistaking the lines to be double or plus, or whatever. It would say ‘Pregnant’ or ‘Not Pregnant’…So, I went into the bathroom where I left the test..
